Another important issue to take into consideration is who you allow to follow your social media accounts. For some, the most important thing is to have the most followers and likes. But, allowing everyone to see and comment on your content can be dangerous. Think before you accept any requests.

FRIEND REQUESTS
Only accept friend requests or "follows" from individuals who you know and trust.

Think about who you are accepting. Is this a friend or family member? Should I accept someone I barely know (...the answer is no)? Never be afraid to ignore or decline a request from someone if you do not feel comfortable sharing your information with them.

Never accept friend requests from complete strangers. Most requests from strangers wind of being "spam bots" which can result in your account being hacked. "Spam bots" are also known for sending out mass-messages to all of your followers, which can cause the same damage to their accounts. If you receive a strange message from a Facebook friend asking for money, contact them immediately and have them report the Spam.

Hackers can also create fake profiles of people they think you may know and accept, so always double check that you are accepting safe requests from the actual person.

Being cautious of who you accept on your social media accounts is one way to protect your accounts & personal information.
