It is always good to eat food and drink plenty of liquids but please don't do this while driving. It puts you in danger as well as others. There are many ways you can avoid eating and drinking while driving. Here are some ways.
- Wake up earlier to have breakfast at home before going into work. All you need is an extra 15 minutes in the morning to have a safe start to a productive day. If you are running late to work, you can always take your breakfast to work and have a quick meal before.
- If you get hungry while driving on a long distance trip. Make sure you eat at a rest stop before driving again. Just because its fast food doesn't mean that you need to eat it while driving.
- Having others eat in the car while you drive can also be dangerous. Your mind may wander thinking about eating food which can distract you from your main focus of driving. Let them know to wait a few minutes to reach home or find a parking spot before eating. I’m sure they will understand when you are only being cautious.
