The first Don’t is Don’t Drive Unrested!
Sometimes we rely on coffee to get us through the day but even if we rely on coffee, it is important to get plenty of rest the night before driving. Getting the proper amount of sleep is important for your overall physical and mental health. The average adult typically need around 7-9 hours of sleep per night. Here are some ways you can improve your sleep health:
- You should stick to a sleeping schedule everyday including the weekends. Sticking to a schedule can help your body adjust to sleeping at a certain time every day. Keeping a schedule for any daily activity is advised.
- We sleep for 1/3 of our life, so it’s important to sleep on a comfortable mattress. Spending a little more on a mattress and pillow can insure that you’re fully rested when you wake up.
- If you find it hard to fall asleep at night, it might be due to your caffeine intake. Taking a cup of coffee in the morning is okay but avoid reaching for another cup after 3pm. Try switching to tea in the evenings to avoid restless sleep.
Take care of your body and Don’t Drive Unrested!
